John Deere Birthday
Today's post is not only really late but also a total scraplift. I needed a John Deere Card for a little boy birthday. I had recently seen a John Deere card at the Cricut Message board. You can see GlendaBoyd1's card HERE. I didn't use any pop dots this time since the card is going to a little boy.

Sweet - CAC Skunk
Overall I like this card I made last night. But I think I might re-do the skunk. I'm not totally happy with how it turned out. Because I only used black and white for the body, the mouth was completely black. Well needless to say I tried to use my white gel pen to make it white. It didn't turn out very well. I'm not really obsessed that everything needs to be perfect but this does bother me enough to do something about it.
This card is not for any challange except to myself to make a card every day. My co-workers always tell me that I need to go to a craft show and sell my cards. That is actually something I am interested in...but you can't go to a craft show with nothing to sell. So I figure if I make at least one card a day I should have enough to sell next year.
Thanks for looking,
Valerie

Mojo Monday 156 - Create A Critter Christmas
Here is my take on this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch . I had fun going through my Christmas papers to choose my strips on this card. I knew I wanted to use the reindeer from Create A Critter for this card. This was a really easy card for me. I made 4 of them at the same time. I'm exited to know that I have almost a dozen of my Christmas cards done. Yippee!!!
Here is the sketch

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challange #85
Today I am posting a card I made yesterday for Sweet Sunday Sketch Challange 85. I did use a little Cricut for the scalloped squares (Mini Monograms). The butterflies are from a Hero Arts stamp set...there were actually 4 to choose from.

Friday Sketchers 119
Well if you have been following my blog, then you will see that I have been doing a lot of sketch challanges lately. Yesterday, in an effort to find more I googled Friday and Sketch together (because I know of a Monday and Saturday...so went with Friday). I came across the "Friday Sketchers" Blog that has sketch challanges every Friday. Now I know it is not Friday anymore but they give you until Thursday to complete and submit. If you would like to try their sketch challange out or see all the other entries just CLICK HERE to go to the blog.
All my papers are from my scrap stash. I was unhappy with the poinsettia's from the Christmas Cricut cartridge so I used some that I had bought a long long time ago. I added the Merry Christmas sentiment...but thought the card needed a little more. I added stitches and some dots and called it good.

Sketch Saturday #120
This is my second Saturday in a row using the Sketch Saturday blog for inspiration. I really wanted to use the From My Kitchen cartridge, since I haven't used it much since getting it. I've seen the apron cut used on others cards and decided it would go well with the paper collection I had choosen to use today.
I had fun working constructing this card this mornning/afternoo. Thanks for looking,
Valerie

Papercraft Star Challange #12
So Wednesday I had a wonderful comment from Beth over at the Papercraft Star blog. She suggested that I try out the challanges over at the Papercraft Star blog. Well I've been getting into challanges lately so I popped over and checked the blog out. Sounds like a wonderful challange this week and I've never tried this type of challange. It is a Photo Inspiration Challange.
I decided to go with the colors in the picture. I used a brown and cream background since I think of brown when I see coffee (my mom always adds milk and sugar...lol) and the cup looked like an off white to me. I incorporated blue since the christmas ornaments (???) in the picture are blue. Finally the Sentiment I used a paper that was similar to the cake. I wished I didn't have to make a Sympathy card, but unfortunately life gets in the way sometimes.

I used Wild Card for "With Sympathy" and the frame surrounding it and Home Accents for the branch and flowers. The inside sentiment is a stamp I purchased at Hobby Lobby.

Just for Girls Sketch Challange
So I stumbled across this blog called "Just Us Girls" Challange. So I designed my card on Monday and cut and assemble it on Tuesday. I Love how it turned out. I had used my Winter Woodland Cartridge the other day for another challange and really wanted to use it again. This is the first time I used one of the buildings. I'm so glad I used it on this card. I realize the bird is a little big proportionately to the house...well it's only a card (lol).
I had fun designing this one on my Gypsy. Thanks for looking!

Quilt Project...
No cards to post today. So I'm posting two blocks to a quilt I have in progress. I started this probably a year or more ago and when I was moving everything from my old sewing room to my new sewing room I came across this. I've been so wrapped up in making cards that I kinda forgot about this quilt completely. Over the winter I am hoping to get to work on this again.

Pumpkin Carving - Sketch Saturday #119
This post today is going to be short. I almost always pre-schedule my posts. I find that it is easier for me to make sure I post everyday. A few weeks ago I started to post everyday. I am trying to stick to that. Anyway...I received some bad news Sunday. A good friend of the family lost her battle with Cancer. She was recently diagnosed and although I knew she was not doing well it still was a shock. Well, I am having a hard time at the moment so below is my card for today and a short discription. Thank you.
A came across this blog called Sketch Saturday. So I decided to use their sketch today to do my first Halloween card for the year. I used some new Heidi Grace papers I bought at JoAnn's and I used my new Pumpking Carving Cricut Cartridge.

Hello Friend - Give A Hoot
I have had this cartridge longer than I have had Create a Critter and yet this is the first time I am actually using it. I first picked out the paper I was going to use for the background and the stamp at the bottom. Lastly I searched and searched the handbook for Give A Hoot until I finally decided to use this little dear. I orginally was not going to only have the dear smelling his little flower...but when I stamped the sentiment at the bottom I somehow managed to get a fingerprint of that brown ink on the right hand side of the inner mat. So to cover it up I cut another flower also from Give A Hoot.
I also decorated inside of this card. I tend to leave them blank but I just choose not to this time. Not for any given reason...just my mood I guess. So the stamp at the bottom from from the same set as the outside sentiment and I thought would look cute inside. The tag inside is also from Give A Hoot.
Thank you for Looking
