There She Goes Sketch #98

I happened across this blog the other day and just had to try this sketch. I seem to be on a tree kick...{lol}. I'm definately going to have to use something different for my next card. So the tree is from the Heritage cartridge again. I did some real stitching on the inside mat and used my brown marker for the dots around the outer mat.

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #106

So this was a sketch from a few weeks ago over at The Sweetest Thing blog. Just like the one I posted yesterday, I rotated the sketch 90 degrees counter clockwise. Plus this was another card that went together really well. It sure is nice to have a couple of these go so well. The circles are from Mini Monograms and the bird on branch is from the Songbird cardtridge. This really only had a shadow feature, so I cut the base in brown, green and mauve {or whatever color this is...lol}. First I used the green, then added the brown minus the leaves and finally I cut the bird off just above his legs and attached to the brown. It was suprisingly easy to layer.

Thank you for taking a peak at my blog,

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 108

Here is my take on this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I turned the skech 90 degrees counter clockwise to better suit what I had envisioned in my mind. This card went together extremely well. I was so excited about it. The scalloped and regular circles came from Mini Monograms, the tree from Heritage {the same one I used yesterday} and the cloud came from Create a Critter.

Male Happy Birthday

I have a few birthdays coming up for guys, so this card was made with that in mind. I scraplifted this idea from a project that was made by Donna Mundinger. Her project is actually a wall hanging that you can see HERE. I just love her work. Just like her, I used the Heritage cartridge for the tree and A Childs Year for the boy fishing. I added grass from Paper Dolls for Everyday. Where she used brads I used a brown marker to add dots to the tree and the boy. I inked the grass and added this Happy Birthday stamp.

Thank you to Donna for the inspiration. And thank everyone else for stopping by,
Valerie

Happy Birthday

So this card might look simple, but I tell you I had the hardest time finishing this. I really had an internal battle over whether I was going to add anything else to it. I also had a hard time with the banner. I had to alter the banner because I just didn't like it the way it comes. But I really like how it turned out.

Wedding Congratulations

This card is for the Executive Operations Manager at work. He recently got married and didn't tell half the office...typical male {lol}. So we {my co-workers and I} decided we would give him a card anyway. I used Sweethearts for the wedding bells and Lacy Labels for the circles. The sentiment is from the Congrats Stampin' Up set. The inside says "Welcome to the wedded bliss club".

Mojo Monday #181 Take 2

Ok...so I don't usually use the same sketch two days in a row, but I liked this weeks sketch and I wasn't 100% happy with yesterdays card. So here is take #2. I decided to use some brighter colors for this one. I used Lacy Labels for the circles again {just like yesterday}. But instead of using the swirly thing from Home Decor, I decided to use these leafy things from Home Accents. The butterflys are from a Martha Stewart punch. I added some faux stitching and a sentiment from a Stampin' Up set I have. I am much happier with this card. I hope you like.

Mojo Monday #181 - March Contest

So this weeks Mojo Monday sketch is another contest...if only I could win {sad face}. But I don't think this is one of my best cards. I wish I would not have tried to really stitch this card. It just didn't turn out as nice as I was hoping. Otherwise I am happy with it. The designer paper is from Cosmo Cricket. I used Lacy Labels for the scallop and regular circles. Home Decor for the swirly things {I've used that cut on three of my last 4 cards}. I used my Stampin' Up Boho punch with the One of a Kind stamp set for the flowers. The sentiment is also Stampin' Up. I used some old pinking shears for the the brown background paper.

I {Heart} Sketch March 2011

For this month's Sketch for you to try I used this bright and cheerful paper from DCWV the Mediterean matstack. I used my Stampin' Up Boho Backgrounds stamp on the white cardstock and punched out these flowers using my Stampin' Up flower punch {I've cut out the center from the background paper by hand}. The swirly thing is a cut from the Home Decor Cricut cartridge. I've left off the sentiment for now as I'm not sure what I will be using this card. More than likely it will end up a birthday card...

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #107

Unfortunately I needed to make a sympathy card for a coworker who recently lost his father to cancer. This is a simple card using todays Sweet Sunday Sketch. The bird is a cut from the Home Decor Cricut Cartridge. I used a Fiskars border punch for the scallopped side. The squares were all hand cut using scraps in green and kraft. The designer paper is from DCWV the Cafe Mediterranean matstack.

I've been sick the last week and a half. So I haven't felt up to crafting. I'm finally feeling better and hope to be making more cards soon.
