Botanical Birthday

Once again I grabbed my supplies from my Stampin' Up stash.  The green card stock and pattern paper are both Pear Pizzazz and the pink is Blushing Bride.  Both of these are from the 2010-2012 In-Color collection.  The flower stamp is from Botanical Blooms and the sentiment is from Circle of Friendship.  I used coordinating inks for the stamps and the faux stitching.  The ribbon is from Michael's which I thought coordinated good with the Pear Pizzazz.

Snappy Birthday

So I recently bought some new Stampin' Up supplies, so I decided to use them for a birthday card I needed for work. The papers are Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder from the 2011-2013 In Color collection. The stamp set is Crab & Company which is retired now. I colored the little guy with the coordinating Pool Party marker {though it doesn't look like it in the picture...} After putting it together, I just couldn't help myself and added the googly eyes.

Paper Rack

So I really needed some storage for my 8 1/2 Stampin' Up cardstock. I'm an extreme cheapskate, so I decided to make my own. I talked to my dad to make sure I could use his shop and tools. Well, when I arrived last Saturday, he had all the pieces made. I just had to paint and help him assemble it. I only had to by some trim for the front (which only cost me about $3.00) and my dad had scraps that he used for the rest. I have it home now and it is full already. I pre-warned my dad that I would have to make another one in the future. I didn't have the heart to tell him I could actually use one right now.

4 Wheeler Brithday

I have a birthday coming up for a guy at work. He enjoys riding dirt bikes and 4 wheelers so it only seemed fitting to use one or the other. I used my Going Places Cartridge for the 4 wheeler. But this cartridge only has the base and shadow cuts. I cut the base out twice {in yellow and black} then cut the seat and tires from the black to add as layers to the yellow. The "Happy Trails" is also from Going Places, the mountain/hill in the background is from the Country Life Cartridge and the "Happy Birthday" inside is from A Child's Year.

Total Scraplift

For my next card, I really wanted to us my Campin' Critters Cartridge which I purchased a while ago and haven't used. I decided to go on line and try to get some inspiration. I came across a card made by Joy at Everyday Cricut. You can view her card by clicking here. I omitted the twine since I don't have any {hehe} and I also hand wrote my sentiments since I didn't have same stamps. So I don't usually do a total scraplift and when I was searching for ideas I didn't have that in mind either. But I just really liked that card so I decided to make it. I wasn't sure how it would turn out with my choice of papers from my stash, but I think it turned out good.

Yes another card using Cricut Imagine

For this one I used on of the bonus imagines from the Best Friends Cartridge. I cut an additional red ballon from 27 to add to the end of the left string...which didn't happen to have anything attached to it. The "Happy Birthday"is from A Child's Year Cartridge.

Hope you have a wonderful day,
Valerie

I'm having fun with my Imagine

So here is my second card using my Cricut Imagine. I'm having fun with it. I just wish I had access to the new Cricut Craft Room. After using Design Studio and the Gypsy for so many years, I really feel limited witht the imagine. I hope the CCR works better like all the hype they are attaching to it.

Old Card, New Color

I made a sympathy card a while ago for a co-worker. I really like how it turned out so when I needed another sympathy card, I decided to go back to this design. The original was made using green tones. For this one as you can see I used blues. I like this one just as well.

Yes Another Peachy Keen

Yes, yet another card using Create A Critter and my new Peachy Keen Stamps. I'm not real happy with how this card turned out. It is kinda plain, I just need to get back into the crafting groove. But I do love how the eyes on the owl turned out.

Owl be seeing you {hehe},

Peachy Keen Stamps

I finally took the plunge and bought some Peachy Keen Stamps. I know this isn't much...only the eyes...but that really is all I needed the stamps for. I bought the "Critter Faces Set A Medium" and the "Everyday Character Face Parts and More". So you might be seeing more people and animals in my cards for a while...well as long as I am getting used to them. So I haven't decided on a sentiment for this card yet. More than likely it will be something punny. Next I will have to take the plunge and buy some of the My Pink Stamper Punny Stamps. Until they I just have to hand write them in.

See ya later!

My First Cricut Imagine Card

So, I've had my Cricut Imagine for over a month...First, my Imagine More cartridge was bad and I had to call Cricut to get a new one. Then I was having problems getting it to update correctly, I never seemed to have time to call Cricut to get help updating, because I work 8-5, don't get home until 5:30 so needless to say, when they close at 6, I just couldn't get it done. Then I went on vacation (and still hadn't called Cricut). My craftroom is on the second floor of my house and with this heat it has been like a sauna up there...so again, I still hadn't fixed or used my New
Imagine.

Well today, the weather was a little less hot, so I turned on the window air conditioner and was able to keep the room cool enough to work in there. So before I called Cricut (which I'm not even sure they have Saturday hours) I decided to try the update again. Well low and behold it worked. So I made my first card. It is for a family friend that was just diagnosed with Cancer.

Happy Birthday Ella

So for this birthday card, I used the project from the Kate's ABCs Cartridge Booklet. The project was to decorate a metal box (hat box I believe)...I just incorporated it into a card instead. My son's half sister recently turned 5 and she really is cute as a button.

Happy Graduation Brandon

Super simple card for my son's friend down the street. This was scraplifted from another crafter, and forgive me but I can't remember who or where. The cap and sentiment were welded together on my gypsy. The cartridge is Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art. The background paper is Cosmo Cricket which I thought was great for the occasion.

Happy Birthday Mom

So today is my mothers birthday! Happy Birthday to you Mom {Big Grin}. So for this card, I went on the simple side. I used some new designer papers I bought at JoAnn's along with a wonderful Core'dinations yellow paper. I inked the edges with Distressed Ink and used a brown pen to add dots to the sentiment and faux stiching. "Happy Birthday" is from Create A Critter and the flower is from Kate's ABC's. For a final touch I added some pink pearls at two corners {Which don't show up on the picture very well}

Happy Birthday

Today I have a soccer themed birthday card to share. A co-worker needed a birthday card for her granddaughter. I went with the soccer themed because her granddaughter currently is on a soccer team. I used Everyday Paper Dolls for the girl, soccer net and soccer ball. I used Country Life for the sun and hill in the background. The inside I used a "Happy Birthday" stamp.

Wedding Congrats

A lady at work always buys the cards she needs from me. She said she would rather pay me than Halmark. So she needed a wedding card. I picked out the background paper first. The flowers in the paper reminded me of this flower from the Creative Memories Reminisce cartridge, so I just had to use it. The Congratulations is from the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cart.

Twinkle Toes

Ok, so I was really rushed on this card. I thought I had left myself plenty of time to make. But It came down to the wire to get it finished. So, as I was rushing, I forgot to take pictures until I was in the car...needless to say I did the only thing available {smile}. I took the pictures in the car as if you couldn't tell. Then when I went into my craft room this morning I see that I forgot the Top of the "T" in Twinkle. Well DUH...I thought it looked weird when I was gluing it down. Also I see that I didn't get it very straight either and I can see the where I didn't erase all the excess glue.. I guess that is what I get for waiting until the last minute to make a card. So I will stop complaining.

You Dig Me?

Here is a brithday card for a co-worker. She is a fan of the Travelocity Gnome. So I thought this would be cute. Exept that I just googled travelocity and now realize that he wears a blue shirt. I might just have to redo the gnome to make him look more like the Travelocity one. I scraplifted this from Karan Giron at The Sweetest Thing.

Happy Brithday to Moo

Well New Year's resolution be damned (sorry for the language). I didn't make it past March with at least 1 post per week. Actually, I haven't even made a card in over a month until Monday. I spent my Memorial Day in the Craftroom with my A/C a goin'. So here is the card I made. It is a birthday that a co-worker requested. His father ownes a dairy farm. So he wanted a cow/farm themed card. I used the Cricut County Life cartridge for everything. The inside says "Happy Birthday to Moo."

There She Goes Sketch #98

I happened across this blog the other day and just had to try this sketch. I seem to be on a tree kick...{lol}. I'm definately going to have to use something different for my next card. So the tree is from the Heritage cartridge again. I did some real stitching on the inside mat and used my brown marker for the dots around the outer mat.

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #106

So this was a sketch from a few weeks ago over at The Sweetest Thing blog. Just like the one I posted yesterday, I rotated the sketch 90 degrees counter clockwise. Plus this was another card that went together really well. It sure is nice to have a couple of these go so well. The circles are from Mini Monograms and the bird on branch is from the Songbird cardtridge. This really only had a shadow feature, so I cut the base in brown, green and mauve {or whatever color this is...lol}. First I used the green, then added the brown minus the leaves and finally I cut the bird off just above his legs and attached to the brown. It was suprisingly easy to layer.

Thank you for taking a peak at my blog,

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 108

Here is my take on this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I turned the skech 90 degrees counter clockwise to better suit what I had envisioned in my mind. This card went together extremely well. I was so excited about it. The scalloped and regular circles came from Mini Monograms, the tree from Heritage {the same one I used yesterday} and the cloud came from Create a Critter.
