Ok Ok I missed my post yesterday

Well I was a little sleepy after 11 hours at work yesterday and when I went to get on-line my internet was down. So I did not get around to posting. Well to start, I've been buying paper like crazy. I have bought 5 different paper packs in the last week. I don't typically buy a lot of the paper packs. They are usually too pricey. But they were on clearance for $9.99, then I used a 50% coupon and they ended up being only $4.99 each.

Here is the card I made on Saturday. I still have not decorated the inside and I'm not sure what I will use the card for. It could be used for a birthday, anniversary or sympathy card.
Here is a card I made for a friend who hasn't been feeling the best. This is the first time I have used my A Childs Year cartridge.

I can't wait for the weekend. I have 2 1/2 days to craft in peace and quite. My son is going to a friends house starting tomorrow. I don't have to pick him up until Sunday. I don't get a whole weekend kid free very often. He may be sixteen, but he does like to bug me when I'm crafting.

So happy crafting. I will try to post tomorrow...Valerie

Day after Christmas

So here are the cards I made yesterday. This is the first time I used printed images on my cards. I usually use stamped images or Cricut cuts. I had seen a video where they used vintage images. In the video, they clear embossed the image 5 times, put the image in the freezer for 20 minutes and then after removing the image from the freezer they cracked it to make it have a crazing look to it. Well I printed out my images from http://clearlyvintage.blogspot.com/, heat embossed them, but then did not end up putting in the freezer. I liked the images and was unsure if I would like it with the crazed/distressed look. So I left them as is.

So I went into work today. What a dedicated employee (ha ha). Every year, I say I will be organized so I don't go crazy at year-end. And every year I'm not. Well some day I will get there. I spent 6 hours working and still have that "Oh S****" feeling about getting everything finished before December 31st. The one good thing is that David is on Christmas Break. So I can go into work early and stay late. I'm debating on going into work again tomorrow. My brother has his daughter tomorrow so they are coming over around 5:00pm to exchange Christmas gifts.

Well one thing I will be working on tomorrow are some more cards. I started another one today. I only have to decorate the inside and then I will be done. I am really slow at designing and making cards. Good thing I'm not in a rush and I have enough patience to do it. Well I will post a picture of it tomorrow. I will also post my new goodies I've bought from Michael's the last few days. I love 50% coupons and clearence items (because Michael's coupons will apply to clearence items...woo hoo!!)

Write tomorrow....Valerie

Merry Christmas to All

Wow it's finally Christmas Day. Things have been really slow today. In an effort to sleep in late, I let David open his presents last night. It worked...He didn't wake me up this morning. But I was so exhausted from working 32 hours in 3 days that I fell asleep before 9:30pm and then ended up waking up in the middle of the night. I finally fell back to sleep around 5am and then work up again at 8am. I've been up since then and it's now about 7:30pm.

I spent a few glorious hours in bed watching Mythbusters. I can't wait until tomorrow when I get to watch Dirty Jobs. I've become addicted to these two shows and love it when the Discovery Channel has their marathons. I aslo spent a few hours in my craft room. I did accomplish making 2 1/2 cards. I didn't have the inspiration to finish the 3rd card. Maybe I'll finish it another day weekend. So now I'm off to watch a movie. My son had rented the newest American Pie movie and even though they are usually really stupid I've decided to give it a try. I may not make it to the end though!!

Last night I watched Julie and Julia. This was a really cute movie. I wish I could blog as good as her. I suppose I could try to find a book on card making and try a new and different techinque each week. I don't think I could do it every day. Maybe some day when the teenager is grown up and out of the house...I will need something to keep me from going crazy (more than I already am. Ha Ha)

Well no pictures today. I will try and post tomorrow the pictures of the 2 cards I completed today. So to anyone reading this post, have a wonderful holiday weekend.

I've been busy this weekend

I needed to make some more christmas cards. So that is all I worked on this weekend. I made 6 cards on Saturday. This actually is really productive for me. Isn't that sad?

Here is the first (and second) card I made this weekend. I used Snow Friends for the snowman of coarse. Then used Winter Woodland for the "Brrrr". I made two of this card. The only variance is that the second one I used pop-dots for the bird. So I only took pictures of this one.

The third and fourth card. I used Joys of the Season for the Ornament and Winter Woodland for the Seasons Greetings. Both cards are basically the same. I just use different papers from the same collection.

The final two cards are the same... For some reason I made everything in duplicate on Saturday. This one is all from Winter Woodland. I almost didn't buy this cart. Glad I did, I used it all weekend. I just love that little bunny.

You Rock Birthday for Hunter

This card is for my son's cousin Hunter. He just turned 13. Since he plays the guitar, I figured I would make him a card that had a guitar on it.

Got Drinks...Birthday Card

I had a birthday card to make for work. I didn't want to make a real girly card. I was searching thru my carts and haven't used From My Kitchen yet and really wanted to. So I saw the Martini glass cut and thought "How can I use this"? and this is what I came up with. I used Don Juan for "Got", From my Kitchen for the "Drinks" and martini glasses, then used A Childs Year for the "Happy Birthday" inside the card.

Another Christmas Joy Fold

This joy fold I decided to have it open top to bottom. I followed a tutorial from Split Coast Stampers (click here to see). I love these designer papers from Micheals and cardstock from Stampin! Up

More Christmas cards

This card is my first Christmas joy fold. I'm really happy with this card. I wasn't sure if I should add anything else to the front of this card, but thought I would leave it as is.

This card is from Mojo Monday Week 114. I'm not entirely happy with how it turned out. But I will pass it along for Christmas anyway.

Forever and a Day

It has been a while since I posted last. I've made a few cards along the way, but mostly I have been working too much to do any crafting at home. As an accountant, the year end gets busier as I prepare for year end and audit season.

I've been working on more Christmas Cards lately. Here is my first attempt at Tri-Shutter Cards. Both are basically the same. Just changed the placement of the inside paper choices.

Happy Birthday Stephanie

I make birthday cards for everyone at work. I have seen the bird house cut used a lot at the Cricut message board lately and thought I would try it out. I used Stampin up and K&Co papers and cardstock. The punch is Martha Stewart and the stamp (inside) is a Hero Arts.
